| 0:00.0 | Alright, back to some semblance of sanity here on day two. |
| 0:04.9 | The deal is starting to slow it a bit of a trickle as we wait on Kawaii Leonard and the Lakers, Clippers and Mavericks, |
| 0:13.9 | even though obviously Kawaii is not waiting on the Mavericks, are all really, it seems like stuck now, waiting for that deal to happen. |
| 0:20.7 | And obviously if the Lakers don't get him, then they'll be in the race for role players. |
| 0:25.3 | Dallas, I'm sure if the Lakers do get him, they have role players, maybe Danny Green lined up, but that they would like to bring in the Clippers are gonna have to pivot as well. |
| 0:35.4 | They'll still have about 30 million or so in cap space should they choose to use it. |
| 0:40.8 | But let's start with today's events, which to me begins with the finalization of the Jimmy Butler assignment. |
| 0:47.9 | Yeah, so one of the big pieces of drama on June 30th was the falling apart of the original Jimmy Butler assignment trade. |
| 0:57.1 | So what we basically knew was that Butler was going to go to the Miami Heat for a four year Mac deal and that the Philadelphia 76ers were going to get Josh Richardson, who makes significantly less. |
| 1:09.6 | So then all those mechanics work. |
| 1:10.9 | But then there were the problems of salary matching for the trade and then the hard cap because if you acquire a player by sign a trade, you are hard capped at the apron. |
| 1:17.9 | So what needed to happen was the heat through it looked like at least a third party was going to have to open up, you know, to satisfy those 12 months. |
| 1:28.2 | And it happened in two components. |
| 1:30.3 | The first one was early in the morning on Monday. |
| 1:33.6 | And that was a what seemed at that time to be a separate trade, which was moving a son white side to the Portland Trailblazers, a team that had previously been interested in white side back when he was a free agent in 2016. |
| 1:46.0 | And that was white side for Myers Leonard and Moharcless. |
| 1:51.2 | But that trade, you know, those two pieces didn't fit together to make a whole Jimmy Butler deal that was valid. |
| 1:58.0 | So then what ended up happening is Moharcless went to a fourth team, the Los Angeles, the LA clippers, not the Los Angeles clippers. |
| 2:04.8 | And with a protected first round pick and then that allowed all the elements to be satisfied. |
| 2:10.4 | Yeah, and we had speculated that it would be Goren Dragoch, that the heat had to move. |
| 2:14.8 | White side was the other salary who could get it to their own, but with white side, it seemed at least us was pretty undesirable. |
| 2:23.8 | By the way, isn't it amazing how many of the sour 16s have been traded for each other going back to the ultimate, which was the Mazgov Beyond Boat deal last summer. |
