It's our last show of the year, so it seems an appropriate time to look back and attempt to digest.

What on earth just happened?

We've given this programme the working title 2017 WTF.

It is one that seems appropriate for a sometimes perplexing year when the news seems to have been dominated by acronyms, abbreviations, portmanteaus and hashtags from Brexit and take a knee to Me Too.

Joining me to chew over both the heroes, villains, sweet spots and unsavory moments at the past 12 months, three writer broadcasters who have consumed it all.

WTF is it, isn't it?

I'm completely baffled and overwhelmed

and worried about a time where I won't be baffled and overwhelmed by it.

Have you just, you've got used to it now, the bafflement?

No, I think it's really dangerous to get used to it.
