Hey everybody welcome to another bald move TV the podcast we talk about all of television I'm Eros de Aron and I'm Jim and this week our tagline is more true than most because we're talking about the Emmy nominations of 2017 which if you've listened to Bald Move at all and most people listen to

TV podcast know that we have a long-standing kind of dismissive attitude towards most award shows but the

Emmys in particular. Even our own. Yeah no like we we it's people like it and

they download a lot so we keep making it maybe the Em in the same boat like Jesus Christ the second

we no one watches us we will stop doing this and so I breathe the sigh of relief

but the reason I've historical I mean because it seems like every year since I

gotten interested in in television

there's just giant head scratching things like newer shows are actually

inventive and they they push to boundaries of what's possible in television, get completely ignored, and then

fucking Down Abbey, and at seventh season, it's wheezing over the finish line, and you know Mr Carson is literally having a heart attack in a

final episode and he gets nominated for best heart attack and

and this like for example one of the consensus top five shows of

television probably can you know one of the consensus top two chosen

television the wire never got a nomination for Outstanding Series, never got a

nomination for any of its leads, I think it got one writing, the nomination in its entire five season run.

It's just stupid.

So with that in mind, 2017, what jumps out and if you're like if you're like me Jim there's one thing that you

want to know how many nominations did the leftovers get? Right.
