Oklahoma is now considering an anti-abortion bill that would effectively make it impossible to get

an abortion anywhere in the state, a state which by the way already has made it extraordinarily

difficult to get an abortion. It also legally risky to give an abortion. They have laws that

could throw you in jail under certain circumstances. If you provide what I thought was a constitutionally

protected service or right, this bill would prohibit any physician who performs abortions deemed

unprofessional conduct in the measure from obtaining a license to practice medicine under the measure.

Oklahoma Medical License Shore officials would be prohibited from renewing or granting a license to

any physician who performs an abortion except when the procedure is necessary to protect the

life of the mother, which means that there are no exceptions for abortions performed in the cases

of rape or incest. But don't worry, if it seems crazy, like how could you take away their licenses

and by the way, how could you potentially throw them in jail for up to three years for doing what's

protected, they will come back and say that it's to protect the life of the unborn.

That's a new rationale for it. That has been stopped similar laws from being struck down by

the Supreme Court. But for some reason, that's the most intellectually complex explanation that
