We got an email that I think was in response to a video that Matt and Michael did last week.

Someone was talking about the Sam Harris-Dan Carlin podcast. I listened to that podcast a couple of weeks ago.

And it is the case. It sounds to me from listening that Sam Harris just a neo-conservative with a slightly different take, not even that different, frankly.

I guess presumably why we need to be spreading our ideals to these countries and not just, I don't know, it's a little bit vague on how we're supposed to do this.

I guess just by doing podcasts and arguing with Dan Carlin about it, or I'm not exactly sure, his agenda is a little bit cagey.

He's trying to be like, because I think he knows that I don't want to sound too much like Wolf of It.

I got to hold some back. But this guy writes apparently complaints again about a straw man. And here's the thing.

Sam Harris hides behind this notion of like, I just think it's a bad idea.

And I'm not even quite sure what it is a bad idea. I mean, when I listen to Dan Carlin, Sam Harris made a point of saying like,

no, of course, not all Muslims are interested in extremism and violence.

That's a pretty safe bet, because I mean, if that was the case, I don't even know that we'd be able to do this show.

There are 1.6 billion. Give or take a couple.

10 million or so. Every time you went into any number of stores in New York or got in a car or went to a coffee in my home.

Or being your home. So I think it's pretty safe to say. That's a fairly obvious statement to say.

But then he breaks it down if I recall correctly into, well, there's a small group of extremists.

But then there's a wider group of people who sort of vaguely support them in, and they do this by answering a certain way in poll questions.

Okay. And that is evidence of, I guess, in his mind that Islam is bad, but not just bad, but dangerous.

And not just dangerous, but necessary to stop in some magical way.
