In 2004 the Academy Award for Best Documentary went to a film called The Fog of War.

Was there a rule that said you shouldn't kill, shouldn't burn it in 100,000 millions

of night?

Let me say if we'd lost the war, we'd all have been prosecuted as war criminals.

And I think he's right.

We and I'd say I were behaving as war criminals.

Robert McNamara, who served as Defense Secretary during the Vietnam War and before that served

in the Air Force during World War II.

In The Fog of War Robert McNamara reflects at length on war and morality and his own

complicity as a human being and as a U.S. policymaker.

And the film is both moving and in a way cathartic.

We all make mistakes.

We know we make mistakes.

I don't know any military commander who is honest, who would say he has not made a mistake.
