The President of Uganda has set to sign legislation that would punish gay people with a lifetime

in prison, should they be caught in any type of homosexual act, or if they are spreading

any type of homosexual propaganda.

Now this is legislation that was proposed in Uganda as far back as 2009, however originally

there was a portion in the bill that would allow for the literal murder of gay people by the

government if they are convicted of gay crimes.

So the EU has chimed in on this as far back as November of last year, and they have said

that if laws like this get passed in African countries, they will grant gay people asylum

in Europe.

So we'll see what happens, but Parliament was in favor of this, the people of Uganda were

in favor of this, and the President originally did not want to sign this legislation, so

we had a panel of scientists research gay people, and they said, you know what, since we

can't pinpoint a gene that determines that people are born gay, it's a lifestyle choice,

therefore we should throw them in prison for the rest of their lives.
