Some good news for environmentalists that last the EPA unveiled a proposal today that

would sharply limit some of the pollutants in our automobile tailpipe emissions.

Those in particular are sulfur and also nitrogen oxides, sulfur will be cut by 60 percent

from current levels, nitrogen oxides, by 80 percent from current levels.

Now, this seems like a good thing, you would imagine, cleaner air for everybody.

We all have to breathe the air with your poor, if you're rich, breathe the same air.

But some people do have a problem with this.

Every time there's new regulations on emissions, you can expect that the petroleum institute's

chief lobby is going to come out and give a statement.

He's worried, and he wants to first all this from happening by saying that these regulations

could increase the cost of gas from six to nine cents.

The APA says that it will probably be more like a penny, although apparently that's

But yeah, so that's happening.

We also would have the benefits of billions of dollars in healthcare benefits by 2030 because

of less smog in the air, although you do have to balance that with paying $130 for the

cost for a vehicle by 2025, which is like the cost of undercoding or something, I guess.
