Of course, they've initially denied responsibility for it claiming that they didn't put the oil

there, and they also don't explicitly advocate compressing organic matter to form fossil fuels

over several billion years. Also, they were just dicking around with a pipeline whilst

going for a swim, that the sea had looked pretty big, so they surprised the old didn't

disperse in an orderly fashion, also that it was supposed to be flowing the other way

is their prerogative, and we shouldn't mess with nature. I guess you know, they've got

a few get-outs. Also, coincidentally, in just a couple of days before the incident, they

announced eye-meltingly massive profits figures. Their profits are doubled for the quarter,

due to a combination of factors, including rising oil prices, rampant profiteering, and

an unquenchable desire to absolutely fleece motorists at the petrol plant, and evidently

also not investing quite enough in ensuring their oil platforms don't explode. So maybe

they should have put a bit more of their £1.2 billion a month that they've been getting

of profits. Let's put that in context. That is enough money to be able to fund Britain's

bit of the Afghanistan War for three months, or enough money to rent John Oliver for an
