Well, in a recent study, US 4th graders ranked a shameful 11th in reading scores worldwide.

And when it comes to math, we rank below Latvia and Kazakhstan.

Well, when you hear statistics like that, as an American, you can only have one reaction.

Which reminds me, American students also can't read a watch.

Now, to solve this problem, the president has appointed my guest tonight, Arnie Duncan, Secretary of Education,

and launched a multi-billion dollar program called Race to the Top.

Man, that guy never stops playing the race card.

Well, now, Obama has proposed his most shocking school reform initiative.

President Obama says students aren't spending enough time in school.

Will students benefit from a longer school day or a full school year, no summer break?

It is a cherished childhood tradition, like fireworks or losing fingers.

Clearly, this is a controversial idea.
