The burning of coal and oil is estimated to kill 20,000 Americans a year, mostly through

asthma and cancers that they get as a consequence of the suit and particulate matter and carcinogens

that are being thrown into the air.

This is a classic example, classic example of the internalization of profit and the externalization

of costs in back, I think it was a year ago, June, we did our show from Denmark, from

Copenhagen for a week and I interviewed a whole series of Danish politicians and one

of them, I asked him, you know, why is gasoline $10 a gallon here in Denmark and he pointed

out that there was like about a $6 that this was back when gas was four bucks a gallon

here in the United States and he said, well, it's $10 a gallon in the United States too.

We just guys, you guys are just paying for it differently and I'm like, what, how?

And he's, well, you've got probably $2 or $3 a gallon is going to protect your military

lines and your wars in Iraq and all you, you know, boil all over the world and then you've

got $2 or $3 a gallon that is going to protect, that is going to the cost of health.

You've got people who are sick because the oil companies are successfully externalized

the cost of illness.
