Welcome to the best of the left podcast with clips today from the Young Turks, Real

Time with Bill Maher, Countdown in PR and the Daily Show.

Yesterday I called for the public option to be non-negotiable, to be part of the health

0:35.4

care plan. I went on and on about it for about 10, 15 minutes. I said, we must have it.

And guess who apparently was listening? It's not a big deal, Barack Obama. Obviously,

0:45.9

he was probably in the chat room, you know how he rose. And he came out today and gave

1:39.1

doesn't make any sense. But I'll come back and explain it just for fun. Here we go.

1:44.3

Right now the Republicans on finance, all the Republicans, except for Olympia Snow,

1:49.4

1:54.0

My objection to the public option is based upon the Lewin Think Tank study that says 190

2:01.7

million people will opt out of private health insurance. When you only have 50 million

2:07.9

left, premiums are going to go way up. And then the president's promise during the campaign

2:13.0

that if you want to keep your existing health insurance, you ought to be able to keep it
