| 0:00.0 | I'm about to share with you my observations about the financial services industry in this, the 200th episode of the retirement planning education podcast. |
| 0:11.6 | Welcome to the retirement planning education podcast, where you can learn all about IRAs and Roth IRAs, employer retirement plans, taxes, Social Security, Medicare, portfolio withdrawal |
| 0:22.5 | strategies, annuities, estate planning, and much more. |
| 0:26.2 | And now here's your host, Andy Panko. |
| 0:28.6 | Hello everyone. Welcome back. Thank you as always for listening. This time for tuning in |
| 0:32.1 | for the 200th time, or at least for those you have been around for all 200 episodes. |
| 0:37.4 | But yeah, this is the |
| 0:38.3 | special edition 200th episode of the retirement planning education podcast. And I wasn't quite, |
| 0:45.2 | I'm still not quite sure, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with this. Normally this slot |
| 0:49.2 | being the third Thursday of the month would be a real person episode where I think by now you all know |
| 0:55.2 | the form and fashion of those, but I figured since this is number 200, I should probably do |
| 0:59.3 | something a little different. And I really struggled to come up with an idea of what to do |
| 1:03.6 | that was special and ideally 200-ish. And honestly, nothing came to mind. So this episode, in my opinion, doesn't top the 100th episode |
| 1:13.9 | I did, which I'll link to, where I did a 100 words of retirement planning wisdom. That was from May 23rd, |
| 1:19.8 | 2004, where I basically came up with 10 different categories in each of those 10 categories, |
| 1:26.0 | came up with 10 specific things that I thought were quick little sound bites worth mentioned. Like one category was insurance, |
| 1:31.0 | one was Social Security, one was investments, one was estate planning, whatever. And it was like |
| 1:35.7 | my 10 sort of top thoughts within each of those 10 categories. There was 100, you know, 100 |
| 1:42.0 | words of wisdom in total. So really proud of that one. |
| 1:44.2 | That was a lot of work to do and come up with and whatever. It was like, there's no way I'm |
| 1:48.7 | coming up with like 200 of anything that's actually worth, you know, 200 things worth saying. |
| 1:53.8 | So I just thought, I don't know, let me, I'll just share my observations about the industry, |
