It's going to good. You know, I was going to try to do kind of a horribly annoying sound

with my mouth just now, and then I was like, no, I'm

going to spare everyone that. And then they'll thank me. Is that not what you're doing right now,

a horribly annoying sound with your mouth? Oh, we're off to a good start, folks. This week on the show,

we are wrapping up Wizard and Glass part one riddles by discussing chapter four, Topeka,

and chapter five, turnikin. The Katte

find themselves in Topeka, Kansas that seems strangely like our Topeka, Kansas, except for

the superflu that's killed everyone in it. They also see this warbling ominous thinny,

a weak point in the dimensions that they presumably crossed through to get here. The Tet heads out of Topeka on the turnpike, trying to find a way back to Midworld and

the path of the beam.

And as they sit by the side of the road in the shadow of a giant glass palace, Roland begins

at last to tell the story of Susan Delgado.

Matt, what did you think of this week's reading?

Well, this is the first time in what feels like a lot of weeks that we've actually slowed down.

I think the last rest stop story-wise must have been the test visit to the wise old elves village.

And ever since then, the metaphorical and literal train of the plot hasn't slowed down for a second until now.

And, I mean, finally, we've rather violently hit this stopping point.

And now we're just going to spend some time with our characters in like a non-emergency

situation.
