| 1:07.7 | Okay, so the first thing I wish I knew in my 20s was to slow down and smell the roses. |
| 1:14.5 | Stay present. I know you have goals. I know you have dreams. I know you have things that you |
| 1:19.6 | want to achieve by the age of 25. I know you have things that you want to achieve by the age of 30, |
| 1:24.8 | but literally slow down and smell the roses because life is moving. |
| 1:30.2 | And as we're getting older, your parents are getting older, your grandparents are getting older, |
| 1:34.3 | your friends are getting older. And you have to cherish the moment. There have been so many people |
| 1:38.8 | who have lost friends along the way, lost family members, lost parents along the way. And I don't believe in having regrets. And I know that some people wish that they may have spent more time with their loved ones or their friends or their family. And now they can't get those times back. There are times for me when I was in my 20s and when we would come home from church, my mom and my grandmother will be in the kitchen, like clockwork every single Sunday. After they make the food, they'll sit down and they'll eat it. And more times I would be in my bedroom, just being antisocial. And I would sit there sometimes thinking, there's going to be a time my grandma's not going to be here. And I won't be able to get this time back. But I was too self-absorbed and too stuck in my own head and in my own feelings all the time to really stop and really observe what's going on around me and cherish the moments. |
