Hey there. So I'm here again with my buddy Laurie Luck. And we're talking today about some of the myths that surround teaching clicker training to people because we're both instructors.

And so we teach clicker training, we use clicker training.

And then also since we both happen to be Karen Pryor Academy, KPA instructors, we teach other people to teach other people how to use clicker training. So,

Laurie, let's talk about, I think, the first myths. So we brainstorm a little bit. We came up

with a couple of myths that we hear a lot in this area. And the first one that I hear a lot is

we can't teach pet owners to use a clicker because they can't handle.

Right.

They can't handle a clicker.

Yeah.

And that's, as you and I both know, that's totally false.

Some of my best trainers who have the best timing are pet dog owners who have not picked up

a clicker before they even got to my class.

They didn't know what a clicker was.

And I look at them and go, holy cow, you've done this before.

And they're like, no, I don't even know what I'm doing.

And I'm like, wow, well, your timing's fantastic.

So we know that that's not true.

Yeah.

I mean, I think I thought I had that same idea when I first started teaching, when I first

started teaching group classes or teaching other people.

At that point, I had already, you know, absorbed or taken on clicker training for my

own training for my personal dogs.
