As you saw from the title of this episode, we're going to be talking about peppers and okra today and for me this is a

very timely topic because I just planted my okra yesterday and I planted my peppers in the garden

last week the weather is starting to warm up and this is just when the peppers and the okra like the weather to be for

them to grow the best. So we're going to be talking all about these two vegetables who

like the weather hot. We're going to be talking about how to grow peppers and how to grow

okra and if you want to grow either of these vegetables in your garden you are going

to love this episode so first off let's talk about peppers peppers is one of the most popular

vegetables to grow and it is fairly easy to grow at least in my experience it's also very versatile

it grows well in the garden bed, in raised beds,

and in containers. For the most part, I have grown my peppers in raised beds with the best success,

but I've also grown them in the garden. And then this year I'm going to be growing them in containers

because I know so many of you guys are gardening in containers, so I just want to get an idea how it compares.

And if I like it better that way, then I may do that more in the future.

As I mentioned earlier, the biggest thing you need to know is that peppers like it hot.

You'll see peppers in the garden center way earlier than they need to be

there. Peppers will not do well in cool soil. They don't do well with cool nights, so don't

take it as a sign when you first start seeing those peppers in the garden center that they're

ready to be planted in the garden because they are not.

Our average last frost date is April 15th, and I usually won't put peppers in the ground until
