Summary

I'm Mike Winger and I think we've underestimated how amazing the Bible is. Every other Friday at 1 p.m. Pacific Time we do these live Q&As. Check back a bit after the stream for time stamps. To ask a question in a future session, just wait until after the stream has actually begun, type your question in the chat, and start it with a "Q" to help us identify it as a question. I may have already answered your question. You can check the "Clip Search" feature HERE on my website to see if I have. Click HERE for my verse-by-verse study through the entire Gospel of Mark. Click HERE for my verse-by-verse study through the whole book of Romans. THIS is the book I recommended related to LGBT issues.

0:39.8

especially deadly according to scripture.

0:42.5

If not, where did that list come from?

0:45.6

And actually, the origin of the list is pretty interesting.

0:49.6

The Seven Deadly Sins, we trace back to Gregory the Great, the first, the Pope, he was a Pope at the time, and we're

0:57.8

talking like 500s.

0:59.7

So he came up with this list, but he didn't come up with it on his own. So the list we have today, it's like his list. So it's pride, lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, anger, or wrath, and envy. That list we've got that Gregory had, but there was a monk

1:16.9

before Gregory that had a longer list that included stuff like sorrow.

1:22.0

Sorrow, which it strikes me and you know I haven't looked into the whole history of what he meant by that word or why he used that term or what even was the, you know, the,

1:32.0

he's probably using Latin or something, what was the you know the little little he's probably using Latin or something what was what was the word he used there

1:34.8

but the idea that sorrow itself as a sin it sounds

1:40.1

strange to me

1:42.1

Jesus was acquainted with of a sorrow, right?

1:44.3
