Summary

The rest of today's stream can be found here. Sorry, I had internet issues: https://youtu.be/r8biDmivVco Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Introduction1. 0:40 {Is Biblical Numerology Really Biblical?} What are your thoughts about “biblical numerology”? Are certain numbers in Scripture intended by God to carry hidden theological significance for us to find, or is this a man-made and potentially dangerous thing to look for while studying?2. 14:48 {About our Future Glorified Bodies} Will we still have scars and such in our new bodies? Like when Jesus was resurrected, He still had His crucifixion marks. Was that just for God’s purposes (Thomas) or is it a sneak-peek of what our new bodies will be like? If you want a question answered live it must be submitted in the live chat after the stream starts (not before) and know that we always receive many more than I can answer so please give me grace if your question is not selected. You may try your question on the search feature on BibleThinker.org as well, since it's possible I have already answered it in another Q&A video. The NEW BibleThinker mugs can be found here. Made by a third party, I'm not making any money here, BUT $5 per mug will go toward to support different ministries I choose. This July it's supporting refugees driven from their homes by ISIS. https://www.zockollpottery.com/product-page/new-bible-thinker-mug Here is Restoring Faith, the ministry helping refugees in the name of Christ. https://www.restoringfaithinc.org/ My website: https://BibleThinker.org

Welcome, welcome to the Friday Q&A, because sometimes I get the name of the thing I'm doing wrong, but I'm bringing to you live for the first time in like, I don't know, two months.

0:16.0

One of my cats. This is Moxie. She decided to start sitting on the chair again, and that's her right there. Let me see if I can increase the brightness.

0:24.0

Somebody who doesn't want to see this, just skip ahead if you're watching the replay. Make it a little brighter. That's going to just look weird.

0:30.0

Anyhow, there's the kitty. She is, need to haircut actually, or else when she goes to the bathroom, strange things happen.

0:41.0

Question number one today, biblically thinking about everything, not feline thinking about everything.

0:47.0

Question one is, what are your thoughts about Biblical numerology? Biblical numerology are certain numbers in scripture intended by God. That's an important part of this question.

0:56.0

Intended by God to carry hidden theological significance for us to find, or is this a man-made and potentially dangerous thing to look for while studying.

1:04.0

My answer is going to be, it's mixed. On this issue, it's mixed. I know you guys are all loading your questions. I'll take 20 questions from your chat. I'll let you know when the questions are full, so you don't have to keep putting them in.

1:14.0

I know it's a bummer to put in a question or not. Have your answer. We just do the best we can.

1:19.0

But what I'm going to do is actually show you an article. This is on crossexamine.org, which I think is a good website, although I think this article demonstrates what I would consider to be a problem with the numerology perspective.

1:32.0

Before I get into that though, let me say, I do think that numbers matter in the Bible, and they matter a lot. But I think that we have kind of turned this into sort of a, you know what I mean? Let me explain.

1:48.0

There is like the Ninja Turtles movie, okay, from back when I was just a boy. And then there are the spin-offs, the ones that come later.

1:59.0

The third, fourth film, and stuff, and it just starts to go downhill. Or maybe a better example, this would be like the Aladdin cartoon.

2:05.0

Okay, the Aladdin cartoon when I was a kid, they did like a sequel, the second, the third one, and then they no longer had Robin Williams forgive me for doing a pop culture reference here.

2:13.0

They no longer had Robin Williams doing the voice for the genie, which of course, why bother at that point?

2:18.0

And they had other people coming in to play the characters. And the writing was not as good and the artwork was not as good. And it was like, oh, this isn't really a lad, and that's how it felt.

2:28.0

So when I see modern people do numerology about the Bible, like they try to look for meetings in the numbers, I feel like, ugh, that's not like the authentic thing.

2:36.0

There's a real thing here, but what I often see popularly portrayed doesn't feel like the real thing, doesn't feel legit.

2:43.0

So an example in the Bible of a number that matters is seven, the number seven matters. Okay, so seven, we will often hear people say seven represents perfection, seven represents completion.

2:53.0

Well, you know, the week is set up in a seven-day cycle, and that's not just coincidental, right? Because there's other things like, say, music, we have seven notes that completes an octave, or at least the eighth note is the new octave, rather, but seven is a full octave.

3:08.0

Okay, that's true, but this is not really Eastern music, and this is more of man's, you know, I wouldn't put that on the Bible. Okay, the Bible doesn't suggest that we should organize music that way.

3:17.0

So the week's, though, that's biblical, that's in Genesis. This is in God setting the foundation. So seven has that connotation, Biblically speaking, it seems.
