Today is Sri Ramakrishna's birthday.

It's a very auspicious day.

I was just thinking that in the Sri Ramakrishna avatar,

God as mother is most dominant, is most manifest. In Vedantah we accept all forms and all teachings about God in the different religions.

But then each one of us we practice with one what is called Ishthya Devata, those who are initiated.

So in a particular form, we know that all the teachings, all the form and formless, all of them are true.

All of them are the same reality. But for purpose of practice, we have one. We focus on one.

Sri Ramakrishna, his Easter Devata was Kali, was God as mother, especially in the form of Kali. So God as mother, the sacred feminine. I was thinking today is the International

Women's Day.

It's unfortunate coincidence, auspicious coincidence. The Gita, Sri Ramakrishna had good words to say about the Gita, which is special because

as you know, Sri Ramakrishna did not put much emphasis on book learning

reading books in fact he used to make fun of that but about the Gita he would say the Gita is a very good book

please read the Gita. In Bengali he would say Gita poured we G Khubu'i. So it's a very good book.

At another place in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, we find,

do you know what the Gita means?

He says if you repeat it fast, ten times,

Gita, Gita, Gita, Gita, Gita, it becomes Tagi.
