The whole method of adwaita Vedantanth, non-dual Vedantanth, is this.

First, we are to distinguish the Atman from the Anatman, the self, the real self, from the not-self.

Once you have distinguished the real self from the not-self, then the not-self, the anatman, is merged back into the real self.

Therefore leaving the real self-atman alone.

To repeat, the method is this.

First, find out the Atman.

Who am I? The Atman means self.

Find out the real self. And this you can find out by separating it from what is not self. Once the real self is ascertained, apart from the not-self,

When the self alone remains, the not self is seen to be the false, then it is called the
