Hey everybody, we're alive. It is Sunday November 27th, 2016. This is the Atheist

Experience from Austin, Texas. I'm at Delany joining this week Don Baker. Hey,

we know people out there are cheering too and happy. Happy holiday weekend for

Americans, Elise. Yeah. It's one of those things. So this past Thursday was by the way, the booth

moot Mike is still alive if somebody wanted to check that. But this last Thursday was

Thanksgiving in the United States and inevitably every time there's some holiday

that has even the most tenuous ties to religion and Christianity, we get the

questions of, oh well, why are you atheist celebrating Thanksgiving?

Here's the thing. I didn't pray to anybody. I think the people around me and I had a nice dinner,

which I think is what the overwhelming majority of people actually do.

And family, right? If the extent of your celebration is perhaps engaging in a form of

gluttony, which is denounced by one of the seven deadly sins, I don't know that

you're actually falling into the trappings of Christianity. So yeah, I had a good

Thanksgiving and did some spring cleaning and got my Christmas decorations

mostly up. The inside's done. The outside's not. You're so ambitious.

Yeah, it's a, by the way, we'll have a video up before Christmas on the

atheist debates project about atheists and Christmas. But it's fun.

How was your weekend? Oh good. Did the big family thing and

made a lot of food, ate a lot of food. So inevitable.

Inevitable, right? It's some relatives in from out of town, so that was nice.
