Coming up, the Prime Minister says it beggars belief he was not told Peter Mandelson had

failed his security vetting to be the UK's ambassador to Washington.

I am staggered and I find it unbelievable. I wasn't given the information I should have been given.

But opposition party leaders Colin Kier-Starmor to resign.

With every explanation, the government story has become murkier and more contradictory.

Also, dismay and distress at the series of anti-Semitic attacks in London.

Many of my constituents face discrimination and abuse every single day for no other reason than that they are Jewish.

And the government gives in to calls for a ban on mobile phones in English schools.

What we all want to do is to protect children from the disruption and distraction caused by mobile phones throughout the school day.

So staggering, unbelievable, unforgivable.

The Prime Minister used some strong words to describe what he said

was a deliberate decision by the Foreign Office

not to tell either him or other senior ministers and officials

that Peter Mandelson had failed to pass high-level security vetting.

Peter Mandelson was made British ambassador to the US 16 months ago.

He was sacked last September, following new revelations about his relationship with the paedophile Geoffrey Epstein.

With his own political reputation on the line, Sir Keir Starrmer admitted once again in a statement to a Pact of Commons that he had been wrong to give Peter

Mandelson the job. I should not have appointed Peter Mandelson. I take responsibility for that decision.
