All right welcome to Atheus Experience. We are alive. It is Sunday January 10th 2016. So this is our first show of a new year in data.

There's a bunch of stuff coming up. I know we've talked before about the phone situation. Evidently we have the device. We've got to do some technical work and some more building security work and then we'll be ready to start actually taking calls via telephone. That will be awesome. Yeah, for now though, we're still using Skype so you can send a message to right there. The Atheus Experience all one word no spaces. Don't call it just send a message. There's a call screener who will be going through and sorting out. We've already

got several callers queued up and then we'll make going calls. So if you guys are in the booth want to start and go ahead and get Chris ready while I'm rambling on about what's going to be happening. I think next week is the 17th and my friend Neil Kerry will be in town to do a believe lecture for the ACA. And we're going to have him on the show. That's the current plan. And I think that that also Ed Breaton may be on either.

Either later January or February February's lecture. I'm not not completely sure. Okay. But I'm back from my Christmas excursion of 3600. Yeah, you have been just really been putting. I got a 2012. Yeah, I'm a person 2012 that we've got 84,000 miles on it or something. It's a big road trip every year. But we've got to see family and I got to reconnect with some friends who I mostly hadn't seen in more than 15 years.

It was cool. Do you have a break for you? I had a very nice little break. It mainly just went home. Some of my mom just took a couple of weeks off did not much other than eat and sleep and hang out with Wat Madagg read books, play games. It was just a very nice break for everything. So that's good stuff. This year's a little different. I posted a quick update on Facebook about the trip and what I did. None of it is relevant to the show. And in the slightest.

But normally at the end of like a two week vacation like that. I'm exhausted. I feel like another need another vacation. This year was a little different. I was actually kind of sad to be coming home.

Because I wanted to spend more time with some people and then I got back and worked. But I was thrilled to be back live on the show. We've got. I guess an audio boost. Chris are you there?

Um, first my topic. This came to mind when I went back home for Thanksgiving originally from Arkansas and my stepmom made me go to church. And I was just so irritated.

She basically like twisted my arm. She was like, everybody in my house goes to church. You know the rules. I'm like, mom, I'm an atheist though. I know, I know. But just go there and pretend like it's like a movie. I like it's not real. And you'll be fine.

She was like, I was like, wow, you're that. I said, okay. I'll tell you something. The one part of the one part of my Christmas trip. Oh, I'm sorry. I'll go ahead.

I said, the one part of my Christmas trip that I wrote didn't really talk about much is for the first time ever Beth and I went to midnight mass. And neither of us were Catholic when we were believers.

But her her new stepmother is Catholic and they said, well, you guys can go to the midnight mass with us if you want to. And I said, you know, that's all right. I'll pass because I'm not a big. It's not so much that, you know, I don't want to do that. I mean, I would.

I was curious. It's just that I'm not a big fan of walking into somebody else's church and being a part of their service, even, you know, invited because there's an element of it that is potentially disrespectful.

And I don't want to be in a midnight mass when they do. Hey, turn around greet your neighbor and like, oh, what church do you go to? And then I say, oh, no, I'm the God was even atheist. God is a lie. Nice to meet you.

But when the resurrection is the resurrection's bullshit. Nice to meet you. We were not remotely. We weren't forced to go.

Like at all, her church is more evangelical in nature, you know, I was raising on domination. And she's not domination as well. And so when I'm in there, they're doing a little praise and worship service. I'm just center like, uh, is it over yet? I'm done.

Yeah, you're like the only sober guy at the party.

Exactly. And I'm just like, there's still in the matrix. I need to like get some people to get them out. We need to send them to Zion or something. The real Zion, which is reason to skepticism.

That this is bullshit.
