There are a lot of different types of aloe however so you don't have to grow aloe vera.

It's just the one that most of us know.

So how would you propagate it?

The cool thing about it is it's quite easy both to grow and to propagate.

But why is it so easy to propagate this plant? The simple answer is that there are what are called

offsets. So let's say you come across

Aloe vera growing in the wild, how would they propagate themselves? Well, they just

create clones of themselves that are offset from the central growing point or the main mother plant.

These are often called pups, these are called offshoots.

And what happens with them is they rely on the root system of the parent plan or the mother plant until their own root system is established and at that point they can completely be separated from the main plant.

Now you don't even have to wait until that point. You can allow

them to root themselves after you remove them so you before they root you can

actually remove them and then root them in their own soil but I mean why not just wait until they do it

naturally on the mother plant. It's going to be a little bit faster that way.
