Time actually so we're back with Erica Nolan of Instar Farms and you know Urban

Chickens I feel like all my friends have chickens and I don't have

chickens and so I'm very emotional about it and I'm very distressed but I'm just gonna

have to keep living that sad life because right now I don't really have the ability or really even

the schedule to get that going on my property.

So I talk to people like Erica.

So Erica has urban chickens and she's done it in a way that I think is applicable to

So Erica, do you kind of want to just give us first an overview of your setup and how you

approached it?

Yeah, so I've had two set up.

So when I was living in a smaller unit, more concrete space, I had two to three chickens and I think it's

important to bring this up because a lot of people don't have like tons of

grass for their chickens like free range on but so in my old space I had this old shed that I converted into a chicken coop and

and maybe about like 50 square feet of like dirt space.

And usually regardless of your space,

I tell folks that starting with two to three chickens

is a good number.

It allows you to get close with the chickens,

kind of connect with them, figure out how to take care of them.

And two to three chickens actually works for like a small little concrete space too.
