Eric, we are in Second Timothy, Chapter 2 this week.

We are. We completed Chapter 1. We move right on into chapter 2. It's got a little bit more to dig into than the first chapter did. So we'll have our work cut out for us today. In I would imagine many of your Bibles, if you're following along with a Bible in hand that you'll see it's headed up with the title,

A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus. Because at the beginning here, we're going to see Paul

instruct his young learner, his young protege, Timothy, what it means to be a good soldier of

Christ Jesus. So we enter in at verse one. It says, You then, My Child. Again with the My Child.

Before we get to instructions about how to be a soldier, Paul comes to Timothy as a father to a son.

That is throughout his writings to Timothy, you see this affectionate tone. You then, my child, be strengthened

by the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Folks, if you need to be strengthened, that's where it comes from.

Yeah. So he doesn't say be strengthened in the law of the Torah from Moses. This is not where
