and then the rich man, and then verse five, David's anger was greatly kindled against the

man. Several times that word eish is going to occur in the story, obviously, anticipating

Nathan's grand conclusion when he turns to David and says,

All right, so guys, last week, several weeks ago in real time, but hopefully last week in terms of when our listeners heard this, we discussed the downfall of David.

And we ended our conversation on 2nd Samuel 11, remarking that at least at that point, David had shown no signs of remorse, no signs of repentance.

He'd done a horrible thing, and we had sort of yet to see a shift in his heart.

In fact, the author of Samuel wants us to know at the very end of the chapter, the author

writes, the thing David had done displeased the Lord. So today we're going to cover, Lord willing,

one chapter, Second Samuel, chapter 12. We're going to see David get rebuked. We're going to see David repent. We're going to see David weep.

And we're going to see David return to where he should have been all along. So that's where we're headed. Are you guys ready?

Let's do it. Are you rusty? A little. Absolutely. We, you know, we had the holidays, the new year. Somebody got sick. Somebody else, you know, had a traffic accident.

But we're here intact. Someone's wife had surgery.
