Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through scripture

with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a systematic

study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book by book.

Here on searchlight we have been going through the book of second Samuel and the life of

David. David was a great king. The Bible tells us that he was a man

after God's own heart. He is a great example for us in many ways, but David is just a man and he has failures. In our study today in

chapter 11 we will see a terrible failure in David's life. As we go through the story, we can learn from David's failure.

We can also learn something of God's heart in dealing with these failures.

Let's now join Pastor John as we begin today's study.

And so we see in the stories of the Old Testament, particularly God's men having failures and foibles and frailties.
