The attack was unprecedented in audacity and scope.

Russian spies went rummaging through the digital files of the U.S. Department of Justice,

State, Treasury, Energy and Commerce.

And for nine months had unfettered access to top level communications, court documents,

even nuclear secrets.

And by all accounts, it's still going on.

That's from 60 minutes on Sunday night talking about what they call the solar winds hack

because solar winds is a popular piece of software that most people have never heard of,

but most big companies had in their system.

And somehow, likely the Russians were able to break into the coding of that particular

piece of software.

And in fact, 18,000 organizations around the world and all their computers and the virus

is still spreading.

It is still doing damage.

And it is considered the biggest, most damaging hack in world history.

Now as a guy who knows how to reboot, but little else, I do confess it's impressive

that they came up with the idea of not hacking into computer systems, but hacking into

something that systems would willingly take in popular software.

I mean, that's a brilliant move.

Yeah.
