Can people change?

Really change?

Well, in this study of Through the Bible, our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, poses that question

in relation to our passage from 2 Peter chapter 2, verse 21.

He asks, is it better for someone to never hear the gospel than to hear it and continue on wallowing

in the mud?

Well, this is the backdrop to the very unusual parable of the

prodigal pig that Dr. McGee shares with us. But first, it is Letter Month, and I want to remind you of

why we continue in this wonderful tradition. Dr. McGee first made a habit of reading letters sent in

by Through the Bible's family, and we continue to this day to do just that.

Why you might ask? Well, I'm glad you did ask, because more than just being interesting,

and they are, these letters are really living illustrations of how God is using his word to change lives.

I know I often identify with the people who share what God's doing in their lives through

His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit.

And I believe it encourages me as well to hear the same affirmation from you all.
