Turning to Chapter 28, we've got some work ahead of us.

All that Nephi and Isaiah and the Lord have done

in chapter 26 and 27, all of that weaving together of Isaiah 29 into the tapestry

is meant to lay this foundation and reassure us of God's work in the world.

And he is able to do his work he repeats twice right it's a marvelous work but it's a wonder and it will leave people wondering believe me

They'll be scratching their head, not sure what to believe.

The learned will have some problems from above.

The unlearned might have some different problems from below.

Can we wrap our heads and hearts and minds and spirits around the work of God to the point we can participate in it.

Because what Nephi is going to do next in chapter 28 and 29 and 30.

In some ways he's going to bring back all of Isaiah without quoting him as much.

This is more explanation rather than quotation.

But what he's going to do is draw out ideas and major themes that he's been teaching us all along. For example, so much

of the Isaiah chapters were about the wickedness of the people and the kinds of things

that Isaiah was trying to help them repent of.

Well, that's going to be chapter 28 for us.

This is a world in apostasy.

These are the negative voices that are out there.

These are the sins that we're going to have to overcome.
