And with that the word, 2nd Kings chapter 9 tonight. We're going through the Bible, book by book,

and verse by verse, chapter by chapter. And we're in Second Kings, and we're basically averaging

about one chapter a week. I tried to do two chapters tonight, but one of the things I don't like doing is getting in the

middle of a chapter and then having to stop, and then if you're out of time, then you try to pick

it up the next week, and it's kind of kapakahi, as we say.

So I like the breaks, the chapter breaks, particularly in Second Kings, so they're actually

pretty good chapter breaks. But why don Kings, so they're actually pretty good chapter

breaks. But why don't we pray, we'll ask God's blessing on our time, and then we'll get into

the Word.

Loving Heavenly Father, we're ever so grateful to you for your Word, and Lord, we're so thankful

to you for this Bible study that we have on Thursday nights.

It represents for us that night of the week where we can put aside all the busyness of

the week and all the cares and the affairs of life of which there are so many.

And we can just focus on you and your word and our time together in your word

and that which you have for us in your words. So we want to commit our time together to you

and commit our study to you and ask that you'll bless it in Jesus' name. Amen.

All right, let's jump in verse one. Interesting chapter again before us tonight. A little bit graphic

once again, as we'll see. Verse one. And Elisha, the prophet called one one of the sons of the prophets,
