Last time in chapters 8 and 9, we started the episode in Aram.

Elijah pays a visit to the capital of Aram, Damascus.

The king of Aram is ill and he wants to know if he will

recover from that illness. The answer is yes, but then he will die. And the messenger sent

and smothers him. Meanwhile, back in Judah, Jehoram, son of good king Jehoshaphat, became king. He was not a good

king, though. And we are not surprised. He is married to Athalia, daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, remember, the killer queen.

And Athalia, like her mother, wields a lot of influence in her marriage.

Evil King Jehoram and his wicked wife, Athalia, have a son named Ahaziah. Ahaziah succeeded his father to the throne and,

of course, was also evil. We ended up back in Israel, where Joram is still king. But Elijah sends a

servant to Jhahu, a commander in Israel's army, to anoint him as king of Israel. The servant tells

Jayhu to destroy the house of Ahab. King Ahaziah of Judah paid a sick visit to King Joram,

and Jayhu kills them both, fulfilling God's word about the house of Ahab because both kings descended from Ahab. So I know that was a lot,

but we wanted to make sure that you had it clear because there's a lot of characters in this episode.

This is like, it's like as the kingdom turns. You know, like who's who. All right, Jayhu is not done.

And the killing continues in this episode because there are two
