0:25.3	We were in Israel last week, and this week we're going to deal with King Amaziah.
0:30.9	Amaziah, King of Israel, 2nd Kings, Chapter 14.
0:34.7	In the second year of Jehoash, son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah,
0:40.9	son of Joash, king of Judah, began to reign. He was 25 years old when he became king, and he
0:46.7	reigned in Jerusalem 29 years. His mother's name was Jehoadden. She was from Jerusalem.
0:53.8	He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done.
0:58.4	In everything, he followed the example of his father, Joash.
1:01.7	The high places, however, were not removed.
1:04.0	The people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
1:08.7	After the kingdom was firmly in his grasp, he executed the officials who had murdered his
1:13.7	father the king.
1:15.1	Yet he did not put the children of the assassins to death in accordance with what is
1:19.6	written in the book of the law of Moses, where the Lord commanded, parents are not to be
1:24.6	put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents.
1:28.6	Each will die for their own sin.
1:32.0	He was the one who defeated 10,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt and captured Selah in battle, calling it Jokthiel, the name it has to this day.
