Looking forward tonight to 2nd Kings chapter 10. We're on our trek on Thursday night through

the Bible book by book and chapter by chapter and verse by verse. And tonight we have an interesting

chapter. We're going to be talking about a very interesting guy by the name of Jehu. Very

interesting guy. A lot to learn from him and his life.

So why don't we pray, we'll ask God's blessing on our time together in His Word.

Loving Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word.

Thank you for this chapter that we have open before us tonight in your

Word. Lord, we need for you though to keep all of the distractions away, all of the

busyness of the day, all the cares and the affairs of our busy lives. And Lord, we just want to focus our attention

upon you and your word and what you have for us tonight in your word. So Lord, will you speak

into our lives? We pray in In Jesus' name, amen.

All right, let's jump in, verse 1. Now Ahab had 70 sons in Samaria. It's a lot of kids.

And Jehu wrote and sent letters to Samaria, to the of Jesreal to the elders and to those who

reared Ahab's sons saying now verse 2 as soon as this letter comes to you since your

master's sons are with you and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also and weapons, choose,

verse 3, the best qualified of your master's sons, set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.

But they were exceedingly afraid and said, look, two kings could

not stand up to him. How then can we stand? And he who was in charge of the house, and he who was

in charge of the city, the elders also, and those who reared the sons,

sent to Jehu saying, we are your servants. We will do all you tell us, but we will not make

anyone king. Do what is good in your sight. Then verse 6 he wrote a second letter to them,

saying, if you are for me and will obey my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's
