0:32.0	In what he called a very difficult decision sales force CEO Mark Benioff told employees
0:37.8	the company plans to reduce headcount by 10% and given the workforce at Salesforce that
0:45.0	nets out to between seven and 8,000 jobs.
0:49.6	We'll get to the ripple effects of this in a second but I guess my first question is
0:55.9	Tim were you surprised by this news because when I think about big tech companies considering
1:02.4	layoffs I did not have Salesforce at the top of my list.
1:06.6	Yeah not on the Bingo card.
1:08.7	I'm not super surprised but I am surprised I didn't think 2023 was going to start.
1:14.8	I didn't think we were going to start off 2023 with the purge.
1:19.0	That wasn't on my Bingo card either.
1:23.4	The reason I'm not surprised Chris is because Salesforce has made quite a large number of
1:28.8	acquisitions and in the most recent earnings report they signaled that sales cycles for enterprise
1:35.5	software running longer and that is a message we have heard from other companies that as
1:41.9	we are exiting 2022 coming into 2023 enterprise sales meaning just plain language here.
