With that, let's get into the Word of God. Tonight we're going to be in chapter 7 and 8,

two chapters in Second Chronicles as we make our way through the Bible, book by book and chapter by chapter, verse by

verse. You can turn there at this time if you haven't already, and since it's been three weeks since we were in Second Chronicles,

I'll just kind of mention by way of an introduction that Solomon has just prayed, a very powerful

prayer, that's almost an understatement. It was a prayer of dedication for the temple, the newly

rebuilt temple, and we're going to pick it up here in chapter 7.

We're going to see a pretty amazing response from the Lord as a result of this prayer and this praise and this dedication service that they're having.

So why don't we pray and we'll ask God's blessing on our time

if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we want to posture ourselves before you tonight with hearts that are

hungry and thirsty to receive from you and minds that are quieted from all the distractions of our busy lives, especially this time of year.

And Lord, you just want to give you our undivided attention as you speak into our lives in

and through your Word.

We're really looking forward to what you have for us tonight, especially in this particular

portion that we have open before us here in your word.

And so, Lord, will you speak very clearly and very personally, if need be,

as we just listen to that still small voice of the Holy Spirit, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen.

Alright, let's jump in, verse 1. When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven

and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the
