Now as we savor the first tastes of autumn,

But when we eventually do, we thought,

that take us back to the origin of our deepest human fears.

Our childhood fears, to put a fine point on it,

as we prepared ourselves for this task,

we asked a few folks to tell us

what scared them most as children.
