Despite being wrapped by fallen trees, offline, no power, no water, negligible cell phone reception, a group of local broadcasters stayed

on the air as Truffield Storm Helene about flooding and devastation of western North Carolina.

Okay, well, who was listening to them, though? That's a thing. A week and a half later, they are still

there. Fielding phone calls from community members and trying to connect with those in need.
