Good afternoon fellow investors and welcome back to Invest Talk.

This is our Monday February 13th, 2023 edition.

And as we start this week, I want to start off by going back to the basics.

And when I say the basics, I'm talking about the basics of economics, of business, of markets.

And one of the first things you learn in business school is the simple concept of supply and demand.

Now I love giving you guys some perspective that helps you break free of the normal bad decisions people make when they are new to investing or just simply guided by headlines.

And their own emotions.

And one of those things is by only focusing on demand.

When people look at investments, you know, they say, oh, hey, was there going to be more demand for this or less demand for this?

You know, a good example is electric vehicles.

Everyone chasing electric vehicles, because oh, there's going to be more demand.

Well, let me tell you about what makes for good investments.

And I will tell you this, I will tell you that it isn't nearly as much about demand as it is supply.

People focus way too much on the demand side and focus not nearly enough to understand what's happening on the supply side.

And you can be reminded of just past few years of what happens when supply is limited, what happens prices go up.
