Valentine's Day coming up is something that a lot of people don't really think about.

Don't really do anything, particularly guys, till the day is upon you.

And then it's the mad scramble to try to look good for your sweetheart or spouse.

But the reality is a little advance planning goes a long way in lowering the cost of putting

on a really nice Valentine's Day for your loved one.

First things first, let's talk flowers.

Okay, so forever, I've had a tradition that my wife really appreciates because it means

I thought in advance that I go buy her two dozen roses at Costco before the Valentine's

search charge begins.

And so I bring them to her and I do something really goofy.

I go to the front door of the house and ring the doorbell and present them as if I'm a

floral delivery person.
