starting first name basis. People are always wanting to know how do I know whether or not

to say that someone is black or that they

are African American? We started this let's talk language series during season one because we want

you to feel confident and comfortable when you're talking about the people in your life and talking

to people who are different from you.

So what I've noticed, and you've probably noticed it too, that if you say to someone, oh,

could you please not say that it's offensive to me or that's not really respectful to say anymore, you usually get a response like, I just can't say anything anymore.

But the reality is there are a lot of things that you can say.

You just have to figure out what they are.

Language is always evolving.

And we change our language to show respect and love for the people around us.

So people who have been silenced in the past are now
