And folks, I'm pleased to have director Kyle Newman back in the podcast

for his latest film, One Up. That's right. It's a video game genre movie, but this time it is

about the e-sports competitions that happen, especially on college campuses. A lot of people don't

know that and we'll discuss it. But yes, you could get an e-sports video game scholarship to go to college and compete on

these teams and be a part of this huge worldwide sport that a lot of people do know about,

but just as many people you could argue do not know about.

So it's very cool that there's a film finally highlighting it, but done as a comedy.

So it's not a documentary here, folks. And look,

without a doubt, this is a silly film and comedy is definitely a strong part of Kyle's wheelhouse.

And he made this film pretty much during the lockdowns before vaccines were available. And we talk

about what it took to make a film on a low budget with tons of effect shots needed,

both for the video game footage itself and for some other things that he does in the film,

and for other reasons that you will hear.
