Summary

Bestselling author Jack Carr returns!!!!!!!!!!!!! In this episode we are talking about his brand new fiction thriller, Red Sky Mourning. We also explore the profound impact of childhood reading and its ripple effects on life and career. Jack shares thought-provoking insights on loyalty, the ethical dilemmas of next-generation warfare, and the dark side of modern advertising, which now manipulates behavior and thoughts. As technology races forward, Jack warns of the perils and potential of the fourth industrial revolution, questioning if new technologies are hindering deep thought intentionally. He delves into the wild, unregulated frontier of AI, drawing parallels to the Wild West. Jack pays tribute to his parents for instilling a love of reading, a cornerstone that has influenced his journey. Reflecting on the simplicity of 80s summers, he contrasts it with today's entertainment-saturated world, advocating for the timeless value of books. Tune in to hear Jack’s passion for promoting reading, the creative process behind his characters, and the many transitions life offers. This episode is a tribute to the power of a good book and the lifelong adventures it can inspire. ** Purchase your copy of Red Sky Mourning here >> https://amzn.to/4eCWwhA Learn more about Jack Carr and his other books here >> https://www.officialjackcarr.com/ ** Download your free 1000 Hours Outside tracker here >> https://www.1000hoursoutside.com/trackers Find everything you need to kick off your 1000 Hours Outside Journey here >> https://www.1000hoursoutside.com/blog/allthethings Order of copy of Ginny's newest book, Until the Streetlights Come On here >> https://amzn.to/3RXjBlN Learn more about your ad choices. Well, I think I should pop on and say this is episode 300. It's pretty wild to me because I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. But here we are

0:15.7

episode 300. What an honor to have Jack Carr to be ringing in our 300th

0:21.3

episode. It's such a fun one and I love that he has pushed me to

0:26.5

read more and more and I know he'll do the same for you. I was doing the math. Each episode takes about 12 to 15 hours of time

0:36.8

from start to finish. That includes reading a book, sometimes more than one. It

0:41.8

includes prep, the recording, and then also the back end of

0:47.2

editing and making marketing graphics.

0:50.9

So for 300 episodes, that turns into about 3,600 hours, about a quarter of a

0:59.6

million minutes has gone into this show that I kind of just started on a whim and never

1:06.2

knew at all where it would take me and where it would take you the audience.

1:10.4

So I'm so thankful that you're here. If you haven't taken the time to

1:15.0

leave a review, it's so helpful for the show. It's helpful for us being able to more

1:21.7

easily get guests. It helps with the rankings.

1:24.7

So it helps us to be able to get the guests that you want to hear from.

1:28.1

There's still a lot of people that say no, and it's a little bit of a grind to try and get different guests on at times.

1:35.0

It also helps with other people finding the show and choosing to listen in.

1:41.0

So your review is really helpful if you had just a few minutes to leave a review.

1:46.4

If you listen to a bunch of episodes or even just one and you really liked it, it would help the

1:50.5

show quite a bit. There was a review just from earlier this June that says,

1:56.4

I really, really wanted to like her show. Ginny, your books are amazing and so is your blog,

2:01.5

but your show is so boring all caps you stay too long on

2:06.3

one thing and you have the worst guests.
