The new Alabama Republican Secretary of State, Wes Allen, was sworn into office in January,

and he quickly got to work.

Day one, I'm with Druff Merrick.

Eric stands for the Electronic Registration Information Center.

It's a previously little known multi-state coalition intended to keep voter rolls accurate

across state lines.

Eric has been the target of a right-wing misinformation campaign.

In March, Secretary Allen told the podcast, Alabama unfiltered that while campaigning, he heard

Alabama's skepticism of the group.

That calls some headlines.

But that's one thing we saw campaign in statewide when we talk to the voters.

Alabama is one of seven Republican-led states to abandon Eric in recent months.

After the break, we get into shifting election policy ahead of 2024.

We discuss how states will continue to ensure free and fair elections.
