On March 14th of 2014, two Dutch students named Lizanna Froome and Chris Kramer's

traveled to Panama for an adventure vacation. They planned to do their fair share of relaxing

on the golden sands of Panama's beaches, but they also had their hearts set on some

selfless humanitarian work. Before their departure from their native Holland,

the girls had contacted a school in a small town on the Caldera River named Volquete,

asking if they needed any volunteers during the upcoming semester.

Their assistance was eagerly accepted by the understaffed and under-resourced Asquela,

but upon arriving in the village a few weeks early, they discovered that it wasn't all that they'd

hoped for. Chris Kramer's rodent or diary that the villagers were rude and not at all friendly,

and that the trip had proven to be a real disappointment. In order to offset what had

led down the initial phase of the trip had been, the two girls planned to hike around the

act of Baeru volcano on April 1st of 2014. The three mile hiking trail that surrounds the Baeru

volcano is relatively easy to explore, but as the two girls set off from Boquete and around

11am, it proved to be one of the last times anyone would see them alive.

Accompanied by a local dog named Blue, Lissana and Chris walked along the pianista trail,

stopped only at an end to ask directions. It's not clear why the innkeeper would do so, but

it was later discovered that he advised the girls to immediately take a taxi back into Boquete.
