I'm doing great.

Thanks for having me.

So you run a shop called Permin selections in Chicago?

Yep, Permin wine selections in the west loop of Chicago.

But how did you get there?

You were from Chicago, but you would move to Portland to go to college?

Yeah, born in Chicago, I actually grew up in a northern suburb called Highland Park and decided when I was looking at universities that I wanted to get away. You know, I didn't want to go to the same Midwest schools as everybody else. So I was actually looking to do journalism school and

University of Oregon is the school that I chose and they have a really good journalism school. So I

wound up on the West coast as a duck.

So.

It was in Portland you started to kind of get involved with restaurants.

Yeah, exactly.

So you know, I got out of school and my major was actually turned out

to be political science with a minor in planning

public policy and management and I didn't really want to go to law school.

I didn't want to go to graduate school at the time I needed a job.

You know I grew up my parents actually didn't really even drink wine when I was growing up you know they you know when they went out they'd have a beer or cocktail or something like that

But really not that much drinking in the household and so but we they'd always love to go to

restaurants and we used to come downtown Chicago every weekend you know once or twice a
