So you're a man of the world these days, but for a long period of time you were

wine director at Webster's Wine Bar and

Blue Bird and Telegraph and how did you get there you moved to Chicago to go to school?

Yeah when I was 18 I moved to Chicago Chicago to attend Nepal as an undergrad liberal arts, literature, philosophy, and languages.

And I've been here on and off ever since. Wine wasn't the reason why I moved here, but I was introduced to it actually first here and then it was

followed through in Paris when I left DePaul.

How did that happen?

DePaul is very good for many things but liberal arts is not one of them and I didn't realize that until two years

in I got kind of frustrated with my education I wanted to learn more so I dropped out

and enrolled at the Sorbonne in Paris to learn French language and culture my big

goal was to be one of the best translators of

Dareda and Foucault. I was like, man, this is kind of my jam. I rapidly ran out of money as a lot of folks doing

as D'Rada did. As Darda did, yeah.

Which is good because he, once he lost his barber, his, that shock of white hair became like the coolest thing ever.

He was my James Dean for a long time, you know, leather, that shock white hair and leather jacket, I thought it was so cool.

That scene of him driving in the race in the car is amazing.

Yeah, totally, with those gloves on. Yeah, it was great.

I'm kidding. So you get to the Sorbonne, they drink wine in France. How did that go down?
