I was on my YouTube and I saw a link or, you know, like a little thumbnail that was like,

such and such disjockey gets fired on the air. Says, Coyote J. Calhoun gets fired from z 102 live on the air and i'm like well this sounds

interesting and apparently it's some guy that was on the radio in birmingham in 1988 okay so it's on

the air in 1988 and he gets fired on this top 40 station apparently for playing classic rock songs and pissing off his management.

I don't know how true this is or not.

I've looked up the details of the story to see if it's actually true or just a radio bit.

Everything seems to be that this is a real thing.

I don't think, you know, the guy's name is really, you know, Coyote J. Calhoun. His name is

actually Jim Batten, it says. Also known as Coyote J is a radio dish jockey. Calhoun is best known

for his midnight show in the 1970s at WERC, a top 40 station in Birmingham.

In the 1980s, Calhoun worked at Z-102 and I-95.

Calhoun was among the original air staff of W-KDF Nashville's Progressive Rock Station and the X.

Where is the X?

Also in Birmingham.

This man owned radio in Birmingham, it seems.

But apparently he got fired because he pissed off the management by playing music.

I'm curious about this audio to see if it sounds like it's real or not.

I haven't actually listened to it yet because I wanted to save it for the pod.
